A Clearer Vision
CBN.com – Haridas is a skilled mason from Keesla village of Madhya Pradesh. He works hard to provide for his wife and two daughters. His daughters attend the government school, but Haridas hopes that one day they can also go to college and become an architect and engineer.
One day when he was trying to align two stones, Haridas found it difficult to see the edges clearly and could not bring them to perfect alignment. His employer, a building contractor, had noticed his mistake.
Haridas knew his vision was declining, but it was the only way he knew how to earn a living. So he tried his best to continue working accurately. Unfortunately, the contractor removed him from fine work and delegated him to a job that required much less ability.
Haridas became very discouraged. His dream of providing a better future for his daughters seemed bleak. His wife tried to console him and asked him to get his eyes checked in the city hospital. But the city was about 150 km away, and he could not afford the money to travel that far or to pay the doctor’s fees.
When Operation Blessing India came to his village, they tested his eyes. The OBI doctor found that he was farsighted. He was given a pair of eyeglasses to correct his vision. As Haridas tried on his new spectacles, he smiled. He was relieved to be able to see fine edges again.
He lifted up a brick in his hands and said, “Now nothing is going to stop me from working perfectly and educating my children, thank you Operation Blessing India for providing me with this pair of eye glasses.”
