China: Church is the Best Medicine
CBN.com CHINA –A team of Christian doctors and pharmacists from the Three-Self Church in Gui Yang City, China participated in a free medical clinic hosted by CBN’s Operation Blessing. Their compassion to provide their professional help at no cost blessed 604 patients who were treated in early March, 2010. They gave free medicine to 219 patients.
One woman in her 30s came to the clinic complaining of a stomach ache and a 40-day delay in her regular menstrual cycle. The doctors gave her an ultrasound test and found out that she was not having stomach problems - she was going to have a baby! She and her husband are migrant workers who earn a low salary. They have no money to see a doctor. She was extremely grateful for the free clinic and the joyous news of her pregnancy. She said she would have had no other way to find out.
Most of the people who attended the clinic were impoverished elderly, migrant workers, and blind people. The Christian volunteer medical team from the church provided gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and internal medicine services to these thankful Chinese citizens.
They also showed kindness to a sick and hungry migrant worker who had been unemployed for some time and could not find work. He was sick and hungry. They fed him and gave him medicine and he felt much better.
Praise God for the opportunity to show love to villagers and meet their practical needs through a local church.
