House Call Brings Spiritual Healing
CBN.com – INDONESIA – Anita listened to a message of hope on Solusi Life television program and called the phone number on the screen looking for healing help from God. The counselor prayed for her about several physical ailments and Anita was so stirred by the response, that she asked the counselor to please send someone to her house. Three days later, a CBN Indonesia team knocked on Anita’s door and what they discovered inside went well beyond physical needs.
After a few minutes of polite conversation, Anita shared the depth of her worries with these strangers. She was exhausted and overwhelmed by her work, husband, brother, father, headaches, peptic ulcer, and numbness in her left hand.
She was seeing a specialist for her medical conditions; each visit included x-rays and cost 2 million rupiah (over $200). However, there had not been a diagnosis or treatment plan. Her family’s finances were drained and she was suffering.
Her job demanded much of her energy. As the only Papuan woman assigned at the Palace of the President to handle corruption cases in Papua, Anita had to travel round-trip from Papua to Jakarta by plane 20 times a month. This commute added to her overall exhaustion and declining health.
At home, her tight-knit family had many problems that were impacting her emotionally. Her husband, Charles, drank and smoked heavily, was unemployed, and had a foul temper. They had never actually been married legally and were living as common law husband and wife. Her father expected Anita to provide for his every need and was not compassionate about her many responsibilities and her ill health. He cursed at her and was unwilling to forgive her when Anita had disappointed him by not doing what he had asked. Her younger brother, Yares, drank heavily, had affairs with many women, and was prone to fits of rage. All of this despair weighed heavy on Anita’s life and she was not respected in her home or her marriage.
As the visitors heard all these troubles, they sought to bring light and hope into Anita’s home. They ministered to her, her husband, and her father during their stay. The team told them things, according to God’s Word, that she and her family should do. They asked her to confess her sin because her marriage was not legal in God’s sight and asked her to forgive her father and to ask forgiveness from him if there were things that had been disappointing him. They asked her father to confess his sin for cursing at his daughter, because it is not according to God’s Word; out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. It would be better to say words which bless. They asked Charles to repent, not only because he had been living together with Anita without a legally sealed marriage, but also because he is still under the bondage of bad habits of drinking and smoking.
Praise God that all the family members who were there at that time gave a favorable response to the team’s suggestions; the team was able to lead them into a prayer of repentance and guide them to accept Jesus as their personal Savior. The team also urged them to forgive one another and ask God for forgiveness.
At that moment, they all were crying and God’s presence was so strong in their home. After this family restoration, the team prayed for Anita and asked the Lord Jesus to touch and heal her. Feeling so blessed by the Solusi ministry, she was moved to become a CBN partner and asked always to be supported in prayer by the CBN team.
