A New Wheelchair for Tanya
CBN.com – Nine-year-old Tanya was born in Ukraine without the use of her legs. She needs a wheelchair to get around.
“Thanks to a wheelchair she can forget that she is not able to walk and forget all the inconveniences in her life,” Tanya’s mother, Sveta said. “Tanya really liked her wheelchair, speeding around, going shopping and just breathing in the fresh air”.
Early in 2009, Tanya’s wheelchair broke down. The tires went flat and were beyond repair. She couldn’t get around anymore.
“I couldn’t go outside, play with my friends, or go shopping in my wheelchair,” Tanya said.
Sveta was worried about her daughter. She tells of how Tanya cried a lot and was very sad, even to the point that she would make herself sick. She was devastated at not being able to use her wheelchair. Her parents desperately tried to find new wheels for the chair, but were unsuccessful. They didn’t make enough money to buy a new wheelchair for their daughter.
Young Tanya held onto her faith during these trying times. She had learned about God’s power to help in any situation from a Christian program called Superbook Club that she watches.
Tanya shares her memories, “I prayed every day asking God for a new wheelchair!”
Operation Blessing heard about Tanya’s need and they were glad to help out. They extended the hand of Almighty God and His mercy by providing her with a brand new wheelchair.
One of Tanya’s favorite destinations is the market, where she can help the family by picking up groceries.
Tanya witnessed God answering her prayer through His provision in Operation Blessing.
“Thank you so much for this gift!” Tanya told them. “If it hadn’t been for this new wheelchair, I wouldn’t be able to go shopping or play outside! Thank you very much!”
