The CBN South Africa office is located in Johannesburg. It serves as CBN’s head office for all of East and Southern Africa, coordinating activities with associate evangelists, project coordinators, and partners in the field.
According to market surveys, more than 10 million people prayed to receive Jesus as the Lord of their lives from 1996 to 2000 in a mass media strategy, which covered the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Angola, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, and Lesotho.
In July and August 2002, almost 400 hours of television programming and 90 hours of radio programming were aired during the 50 days of "Operation Sunrise Africa." As a result of this partnership campaign between CBN and Campus Crusade for Christ, more than 1.7 million people committed their lives to Jesus Christ.
Today, an estimated 15 million people watch CBN programming in the region every week. The programs featured are The 700 Club , Le Club 700 French , Clube 700 (Portuguese) , Turning Point , and One Cubed . Twenty-five TV stations in the region currently transmit CBN programming in 13 different nations. A total of six centers provide follow-up support for correspondence and phone calls.
In addition to broadcasting TV programs, 14 Media Ministry Centers throughout the region show videos and DVD’s to people who do not have access to television sets. Evangelistic teams take equipment into townships, villages, and squatter camps averaging 100 events per month, resulting in thousands giving their lives to Christ.
In partnership with Operation Blessing, CBN Africa is involved in the following humanitarian projects in this region: Care centers for children, orphanages, nutritional feeding programs, medical missions , micro enterprise skill centers and sewing centers, agricultural and aquaponics projects, and fresh water well projects .
