CBN India launched Nireekshana in 2000, with the desire to bring hope to the people of Andhra Pradesh. Telugu-speakers make up one of the largest groups in Southern India. The show is extremely popular among all classes of people as they identify with the testimonies of ordinary people who found the strength and courage to solve their problems through faith in Jesus Christ.

Nireekshana imparts a message of hope by illustrating the reality of Jesus at work changing the lives of people from different faith backgrounds and places in India. This 30-minute magazine format show addresses a contemporary issue in each of its episodes. Each program also features a testimonies from the lives of Indians facing problems often larger than themselves but overcoming them with the hope and strength they find in Jesus Christ. Segments on the work of Operation Blessing India demonstrate God's love by extending help in many ways to the people of India and its neighboring countries. A "Man on the Street" segment features various people from all walks of life expressing their viewpoints on the issue of the day. Music videos from popular Christian artists and, finally, a prayer and invitation to follow Jesus are also important parts of the program.

Nireekshana airs every Sunday from 10- 10.30 am on TV 1, and 5.30pm on TV 9, a popular news channel.
