CHURCH OF THE WEEK

Making the Word State of the Art

By Gorman Woodfin
The 700 Club

CBN.com “They come in from video games.  They come in from all the excitement of high school, all the things that are going on in their lives, and television. So we try to bring a lot of excitement and a lot of fun to get them here.  But then you work the Word in.”

Pastors Tom and Maureen Anderson say that their outreach to young people is one of the most important missions of their church. The state of the art youth center brings the kids in.

Youth Pastor Aaron says, “We have video game systems.  We have Xbox’s,  Xbox 360’s.  We have pool tables, air hockey, ping pong, the rock wall, the nine foot skate ramp.  And lots of activities for the kids to just have some fun.”

“I look forward to it 'cause not only do you get to have fun with all the games but then you learn more about God,” one girl says. “The service is just so much more fun and enjoyable.”

Another teen says, “It just seems like each person you meet is a good example for you. The more you are around somebody, the more  you’re like them.”

Congratulations, Living Word Bible Church of Mesa, Arizona, for being America’s Church of the Week.
