CBN.com – Matt Brown isn’t your average California surfer.
He’s also the lead pastor of Sandals Church. It meets in the gym at California Baptist University in Riverside.
Matt’s desire is for everyone in his church to go on a mission’s trip.
Pastor Matt Brown says, “I want every single member at our church to get the fact that the Great Commission in Matthew 28: 20 is not for pastors. It was to Jesus’ disciples that every single person who believes in Christ is to go be a missionary. Mexico provides the perfect outlet for us. It’s right there and these people are needy.”
Sandals Church has adopted a church called Lo Mejor del Trigo. The name means the best of the wheat.
Pastor T.J. O’Donnell coordinates the outreach.
He says, “We provide financial support. We provide volunteer support with workers. We bring stuff for the kids to do. We cut hair. We go into the community. We paint houses. We just help them as a church to go out into the community and to evangelize and do community service and things of that nature.”
Jamie Harwood has gone on all three mission trips to Mexico.
“It’s definitely a life changing experience to go on a mission’s trip,” he says.
