IHOP Church: International House of Prayer

CBN.comIt began with a prayer meeting in February of 2006 at the International House of Prayer. That meeting is still going on today. The church, also know as IHOP, is a place of un-ceasing prayer. Members come to IHOP's 24 hour prayer room for 6 to 8 hour shifts. They study, worship, and of course, pray.

"We're getting ready to celebrate our third year going 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The idea is this - Luke 18. It tells us that if we cry out night and day, He’ll release speedy justice," said Billy Humphrey, the pastor of IHOP.

Members say they hope God will stop the many social injustices in their city.

"In the city of Atlanta there are a lot of troubling statistics. The government has us high on the list for drug trafficking, for human trafficking. We want to see it stopped," Billy said.

Their fervent prayer has paid off. They've seen incredible results.

"We’ve seen God actually shut down an abortion clinic. We quietly and silently prayed faithfully for two years, and God allowed that abortion clinic to close down," said Jennifer, a member.

"We were praying and praying for the sex trade industry. A couple of days after we saw the Lord bust the ring in our county and girls rescued from that sex trade industry," said Christian, another member.

For their dedicated 24 hour prayer, The 700 Club honors IHOP Atlanta - America’s Church Of The Week!
