Boise Vineyard's "Garden Of Feedin"

CBN.com It’s Saturday morning at the Boise Vineyard Church in Idaho.  Volunteers are working hard in the organic garden to harvest hundreds of pounds of produce – but not just for themselves.

“I always believed works showed your faith,” said Pastor Tri Robinson.

For 20 years, Pastor Robinson has encouraged his church to reach out to people in need.

“We happen to have some people with real green thumbs and we saw the need to grow fresh produce for our benevolence ministry,” Tri said. “And here it’s actually like a farmer’s market where they can come in and have fresh produce, which is very unique and it makes them feel special.”

Boise Vineyard Church has helped thousands of people in other ways too.  They run a free medical clinic and a food pantry.  Their “Garden of Feedin” produced more than 20,000 pounds of vegetables in 2007.  That fed nearly 1300 families.  Church member Bill Meeker supervises the garden and its 115 volunteers.

“I use to fly fish, I use to play golf, use to think I was doing everything right, but I found out to really get that hole-in-one you need to be out here giving away these vegetables and helping the Lord,” Bill said. “And if we can see someone who’s really benefiting from it, that makes it better than a hole-in-one.”

For your tremendous provision for those in need, The 700 Club salutes Boise Vineyard Church – America’s Church of the Week!
