PRAYER AND CONSECRATION

Bishop Wellington Boone says prayer is the lifeblood of consecration. When you are consecrated, you can commune with God in prayer, and then you have the confidence to lead the people against their enemies. The priests—the intercessors who had been before God—went first when Joshua crossed the water and entered the Promised Land.  Also, prayer is your secret weapon in any crisis. Joshua prayed desperately at Ai when the enemies of Israel were defeating them because of the sin of one of their people, Achan. God answered him with a commandment for consecration.

The lack of consecration in the church is the reason there is fall out in the church culturally and in ministry.  People don't seem to know what it means to be a believer vs. being consecrated.  Many Christians are saved but that is the extent of their Christian walk – they are saved, but unsurrendered to the Lord.  We will only truly change when we get into the Presence of the Lord and have an authentic, godly Christian walk (Hebrews 4).

FOUR WAYS TO BE CONSECRATED

Bishop Boone gives four things that will help a Christian to be consecrated:

1) Develop consistent prayer habits.  It is good to have a consistent prayer time with the Lord.  Like in Psalms 63:1, David sought the Lord early.

2) We need to have a biblical world view instead of a worldly biblical view.  We need to see the world through the eyes of God rather than have God fit the world's standards.

3) The Holy Spirit needs to be included in our decisions.  The Holy Spirit is the most ignored Presence in the world today.  He will only show up where He is wanted.  We need to remember the importance of the Holy Spirit and develop an intimacy with Him.

4) What you make happen for God and others God will make happen for you.  As it says in Matthew 6:33 "...Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."  When Jesus was on the earth, He only did the will of the Father and cared for others, never Himself.  We are to follow Jesus example...follow Him and care for others.

SEVEN REASONS FOR CONSECRATION

Consecration is important.  It is whole-hearted devotion to God. Your eyes have been opened and you are giving yourself wholly to the Lord.

Here are seven reasons why we should be consecrated to the Lord:

1) Consecration prepares you for an unknown future (Joshua 3:2-17).

 2) Consecration prepares you to stand before two people: God and your enemies (Joshua 7:6-14).

 3) Consecration purifies your heart motivations. Your consecration represents your purity (Matthew 5:8; Job 1:1, 5).

4) Consecration averts God’s judgment and brings God’s presence (Joel 2:15-17; Hebrews 10:26-31).

 5) Consecration makes the spiritually weak strong. Sanctification is your way to perfection and maturity (Hebrews 7:23-28, 10:14).

 6) Consecration is your way to God through the blood of Jesus, who is our High Priest forever—“holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners”—interceding on our behalf (Hebrews 7:17-28; Jeremiah 13:15-17).

 7) Jesus is our role model for a consecrated life (Hebrews 10:9-14; 2 Timothy 2:17-21).

CONSECRATION PRAYER

Here is an example of a consecration prayer:
Father, in Jesus’ name, we thank you for the revelation of Who You are:

We ask for Your help because we need it so badly, Lord Jesus, not only now, as we open up our hearts for your Word, but moment by moment.   Father, glorify your Son in our lives. Help us in our weaknesses.   Strengthen us in the tender years so we will be prepared when You launch us into responsibilities as we reach the age of accountability.   Thank you for the preparation we received from our fathers.  Thank you for some whose quality of life was gold. Thank you also for those who were silver, brass, and wood, because we know that some preparation was made for our existence today.  Thank you for the preparation that You are giving us now. We will be the highest quality of substance for the generation to come, but even more fully, Lord, for the world to come. We are your house. Thank you so much for what you are building in us.  Open our eyes that we might
see.  Open our hearts that we might hear. Deal with our hearts that we might become even more tender as You speak to us.   In Jesus’ name we come against all the works of evil that would try to debilitate us in any way. We are strong in the finished work of Jesus on the cross, and with His stripes we are healed—in spirit, soul, and body.  Thank You so much. Receive the glory now. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

BLACK GENOCIDE IN AMERICA
Bishop Boone has just written a new book, Black Genocide: Tragedy of the American People.  It contains 600 pages of gripping stories, vital primary source research, and fresh revelation from a spiritual journey of more than three decades. It exposes how Planned Parenthood and state laws in the United States have targeted Blacks for genocide. It applauds slavery apologies and the anti-lynching resolution of the Senate and offers a strategic plan for taking back the inner cities to the glory of God. It challenges Black Americans to recall the character qualities of their ancestors as faith-filled, forgiving people and calls them to greatness in God as world spiritual leaders. “Wilt thou not revive us again, that my people may rejoice in thee?  (Psalm 85:6)
