Random thoughts while listening to some music & reading a book by author Robert Fulghum; I quote him:
“If your life was made into a movie, and that movie had an appropriate soundtrack, and I bought a CD of the music, what kind of music would it be? What mood would it leave me in if I played it? What would I recognize?”
And as we used to say in the Dick Clark Bandstand Days, (for those who remember) “Can you dance to it? And does it have a good beat?”
As I have written elsewhere, “music makes memories, and music means memories.”
Twenty years from now will a romantic dinner be accompanied with “rap by candlelight?”
One of our internet producers, Jennifer Jones, who works with me on my writings, and handles our music page, came up with her list as follows:
Music nerd that I am, I've thought of this question dozens of times and I know that my life's soundtrack would have to include the following:
"American Pie" by Don McLean
"Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac
"Elijah" by Rich Mullins
"Blackbird", "Something" and "All You Need Is Love" by the Beatles
"Nothing Compares to You" by Sinead O'Connor
And of course your wife's "Be My Baby"
It may take you some time to think this through but I’d be interested in your “soundtrack.”
