Top Business Leaders Share Insights for Success at Billion-Soul Pastors Conference

More than 2,000 pastors from across the country will converge in Orlando this week to interact with a “Who’s Who” of world-renowned international speakers as part of a global campaign to plant five million churches and win one billion people to Christ worldwide over the next 10 years.

Among the speakers at the event, being held Jan. 25-27 at Faith Assembly Church, will be S. Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A, one of the largest privately owned restaurant chains in the nation.

"There can be no doubt we are living in unprecedented times in the world,” said Cathy.  “In order for the Great Commission to be accomplished, the church will have to adopt aggressive teamwork where Christian business leaders and local pastors can work together to achieved unparalleled results."

Cathy, success expert Peter Lowe, leadership author John Maxwell, and Al Weiss, chief operating officer for  Disney, are just some of the business experts who will pour their knowledge and insights into conference attendees to help bring about strategy and vision in the church.

“For the first time ever, we are bringing together the top visionary business leaders who want to share their success secrets with pastors,” said Dr. James O. Davis, co-founder, president and chief executive officer of the Global Pastors Network.  “These business leaders will make a difference in helping pastors and leaders fulfill the great commission and become ’soul millionaires‘ in their communities.”

As part of the GPN conference, business leaders will focus on equipping and encouraging key pastors to work together.  The Billion Soul Initiative is part of the ongoing legacy of Campus Crusade for Christ founder, Dr. Bill Bright, who passed away in 2003. Organizers say global impact can come through transcending boundaries to build partnerships and transform lives around the world.

"I am thrilled with the Billion Soul vision and believe the Lord of the Harvest is bringing His Church together for the greatest evangelism effort ever,” Lowe said.  “I encourage pastors and business leaders to join with us!"

Organizers believe the conference not only will provide essential training and tools to help pastors in their everyday lives, but it also will engage some of the best and brightest minds in business from around the country to share insights and successful best business practices to help pastors. Chick-fil-A will sponsor food for attendees to help save time and money.

In the past four years the Global Pastors Network has brought together more than 14,000 pastors, from every state, every Canadian province and from more than 70 nations. Since its first pastors conference in 2004 -- with more than 5,000 pastors attending -- to the current regional “summit” meetings being held around the country, organizers say they are building the momentum to put into action a new global evangelism strategy.

“In the next ten to 15 years, more than five million new churches will be established worldwide and more than one billion people will put their trust in Jesus Christ,” said Dr. Davis.  “They will need qualified and equipped leaders to pastor them, and Global Pastors Network is helping the church prepare.”

Among the other well-known speakers at the January event will be evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, Bishop Kenneth Ulmer of Faithful Central Bible Church outside Los Angeles; Rev. Sunday Adelaja from the Ukraine, and Pastor David Mohan from India, both of whom pastor congregations of over 30,000 people.

Conference Details

The conference, to be held at Faith Assembly of Orlando, starts Wednesday, January 25, at 9 a.m., and concludes Friday, January 27, at 9:00 p.m.

The Global Pastors Network began in 2002 as resource for meeting the Church’s need for trained and equipped pastors. Dr. Bill Bright of Campus Crusade for Christ and Dr. James O. Davis, co-founders, wanted to provide ministry leaders around the world with the best Christian leadership training available in the most efficient and affordable way possible.

Though Dr. Bright died in July 2003, his vision and legacy live on through the leaders he inspired. Bright called GPN, “the most important project I have ever been part of in my life.” The Global Pastors Network is at the forefront of the movement to train millions of pastors and Christian leaders for the billion-soul harvest, all for a fraction of the time and cost of traditional education.

Immediately after this event a ‘Summit’ conference is scheduled for February 7th, 2006 in Los Angeles at Faithful Central Bible Church, Inglewood, California.
