Camp Nabs Top Songwriting Honors For Second Year In a Row
Named 'Songwriter Of The Year' and Awarded 'Song Of The Year' at ASCAP Christian Music Awards

– Nashville, TN – (April 10, 2006) – It was an unusually busy last week for BEC Recordings artist Jeremy Camp. Not only was he up for five awards at the 37th Annual GMA Music Awards held Wednesday, April 5th, Camp was again named Songwriter of the Year as well as nabbing Song of the Year at the 28th Annual ASCAP Christian Music Awards. Yet, his best award of all was welcoming to the world his new daughter, Arianne Mae.
Camp and wife, Adie, are elated at the birth of their second daughter, Arianne Mae, who decided to join the Camp family in the early morning of Wednesday, April 5th. Arianne Mae was born at 1:44 am, weighing 5 lbs 13 oz. and was 19 inches long. She is joined by her proud big sister, Isabella Rose, now 18 months. The entire family is doing well.
Kicking off the week, on Monday, April 3rd Camp was awarded top honors at the 28th Annual ASCAP Christian Music Awards. For the second year in a row, he was named Songwriter of the Year for penning his hit singles “Take You Back” and “This Man,” as well as winning Song Of The Year for “Take You Back.” A photo of Camp accepting his awards is attached to this press release. Camp also won yet another Dove Award, this time in the Special Event Album category for his participation on Music Inspired by the Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Camp wrote and performed the song “Open Up Your Eyes” for the multi-artist project. Camp was also nominated in four other categories: Best Male Vocalist, Artist of the Year, Rock Recorded Single for “Lay Down My Pride,” and Pop/Contemporary Album for Restored. Now adding this new Dove to his shelf, Camp has a total of five GMA Awards, as he was 2004 and 2005’s Male Vocalist of the Year, 2004’s New Artist of the Year, and 2005’s Rock Recorded Song for “Stay” from his debut release, Stay.
