Ronald Winans Dies at 48

CBN News - Gospel singer Ronald Winans died Friday in Detroit of heart complications.

The 48-year-old was surrounded by his entire family during his final moments.

Winans was a Grammy award-winning member of the Winans Gospel Quartet and a solo artist.

He and his family began recording in 1981 and quickly became known as the "First Family of Gospel."

They had 31 Grammy awards and 20 Stellar and Dove awards between them.

Ronald Winans was the second oldest of ten siblings. He was a frequent guest on The 700 Club.

A musical tribute to his life has been scheduled for this Thursday in Detroit.
