Laboratory-Made Hamburger Makes Public Debut

Ad Feedback

The first hamburger created in a laboratory made its public debut Monday.

Volunteers who tasted it said the burger had the texture of meat but didn't have much flavor because of the lack of fat.

The burger was made in a lab using the muscle cells of two organic cows.

Creators of the process hope making meat in labs will one day fight both hunger and climate change.

Animal rights activists applauded the technology, saying it will help end animal suffering.
