Summer may be coming to a close, but one danger from summer heat is still very real.

In Phoenix, a baby died after being left in a car out in the heat for more than an hour. The father was arrested. Police say he left the child to go smoke pot.

In Springdale, Ark., one mother faced charges after leaving five kids in a hot car for 15 minutes.

At a martial arts school in Lakeland, Fla., two staffers were arrested after leaving a 5-year-old boy locked in a car for an hour.

And in Minneapolis, Minn., 27 schools are reopening today after being shut down last week. Officials took that step amid sweltering heat and a lack of air conditioning.
