US-Israel Spat: What It Means for Both Nations
Relations between the United States and Israel are at an all-time low, with a U.S. official recently accusing the Jewish state of spying and sabotaging the Iranian nuclear talks.
Now, an Israeli newspaper claims the United States declassified a 1987 report on Israel's nuclear program and leaked it to the press.
Meanwhile, the White House continues to criticize Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for comments he made about a Palestinian state toward the end of Israel's election campaign.
Recently, while addressing a left-wing Jewish group, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough questioned the Israeli leader's sincerity.
McDonough said Israel must end its "occupation" of Palestinian-held territory, and the United States has even suggested it might back the Palestinian strategy of using the United Nations to create a Palestinian state.
Congressional leaders have accused the president of throwing a 'temper tantrum," but some say the president's antaganism towards the Jewish state runs much deeper and stronger.
CBN Middle East Bureau Chief Chris Mitchell talked with Terrorism Analyst Erick Stakelbeck, Senior Editor John Waage, and Middle East Correspondent Julie Stahl about the breakdown in relations and how it will affect Israel and America. Click play to watch.
