Trump and Evangelicals: True Love or Settling for Second Best?

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is talking faith and it's getting a mixed reaction.

On Monday, he enjoyed a positive reception at Liberty University, a bastion of evangelicalism. But there are some who question if his faith talk is real -- or just talk.

They even point to a mistake he made when referring to a book of the Bible, calling it "Two Corinthians" instead of "Second Corinthians."

Other evangelicals have stronger objections to Trump's popularity with their tribe.

Dr. Russell Moore, with the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. shared his thoughts on Twitter while Trump spoke.

"Evangelicals can love a golden calf, as long as Aaron promises to make Mexico pay for it," Moore tweeted.

And, "This would be hilarious if it weren't so counter to the mission of the gospel of Jesus Christ."

CBN's David Brody says it's no suprise Trump isn't a theologian, and no one should assume that evangelicals are a monolothic block of voters.
