Deadly storms in the Midwest are forcing people in Missouri to leave their homes and head to higher ground.
Flooded rivers have swallowed entire neighborhoods and shut down highways and roadways throughout the state.
Authorities in the suburbs of St. Louis ordered mandatory evacuations and a state of emergency has been declared.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Give to Operation Blessing
"A flood in the winter is very dangerous. It's really cold out there. Everybody keep a good attitude," Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon told residents. "It's gonna be awhile."
The rivers in Missouri are expected to reach heights not seen since the massive floods of 1993.
Meanwhile, people in Dallas, Texas, are picking up the pieces with help from CBN's Operation Blessing.
After a monstrous tornado ripped through neighborhoods in Rowlette and Garland, the disaster relief organization stepped in and began working with local government officials to receive and train volunteers.
They've sent more than 160 workers into neighborhoods to assess needs and begin removing debris. They're also giving emotional support to the victims.
"There's a woman around the corner...we just held her and listened to her story just to be there emotionally and to fulfill something to bring them back to normalcy and to help them in some way we can," volunteer Jessi Steele said.
"You know, I feel like I'm doing something and so it may be small but I know eventually these people need all the help they can get and every little bit helps," volunteer Tiki Boyea-Logan said.
