Military, political and religious leaders are standing up for Navy Chaplain Wes Modder, who faces pottentially career-ending discipline for sharing his biblical-based views during private counsling sessions.
Modder said he was simply offering spiritual guidance in accordance with his faith, but several sailors complained.
Now he's under investigation and could be hauled before a military board of inquiry. The 19-year veteran could be kicked out of the service and lose his pension.
Sen. Ted Cruz, Rev. Franklin Graham, and retired Gen. William "Jerry" Boykin are among those who are defending Modder.
Gen. Boykin serves as executive vice president for the Family Research Council. He spoke more with CBN News about Modder's case and the current religious climate in the military.
