"The 5th Wave," a young adult sci-fi thriller, is hitting theaters this weekend.

The film tells the tale of Cassie Sullivan, a teenage girl who finds herself separated from her family after a series of alien attacks decimate planet Earth.

"Some guests are just the worst. Take the extraterrestrial visitors that drop in on Earth in 'The 5th Wave,'" writes film critic Paul Asay.

"At first, they were like awkward 6th graders at a middle school dance-simply circling around the place in their gigantic spiky spaceship," he continued. "And while that's all well and good… it became pretty obvious that, like all bad guests, they showed no intention of leaving."

Bob Waliszewski, director of Plugged In Online, shares his thoughts on "The 5th Wave" as well others films debuting at the box office this weekend. Click play to watch.
