Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas is set to star in a new reality TV show.

Douglas, now 20, made history in 2012 as the first African-American All-Around Olympic Gold Medalist in gymnastics.

As she heads to the Olympic games in Rio De Janeiro, cameras will follow her and her family as part of a new TV series called "Douglas Family Gold."

The show will highlight Douglas as she preps for the games.

Gabby Douglas explains to CBN's Charlene Aaron how prayer is an important part of her success. Watch the entire interview below.

"This time as Gabby trains tirelessly in Ohio with her grandmother by her side, the rest of the family keeps busy juggling Gabby's business and their own lives back in California," a press release for the show explained.

"Her brother John is a standout athlete in track, while devoted sisters Arie and Johy are eager to blaze their own paths with 'Momager' Natalie keeping this tight-knit family in-check," it continued. "With Gabby's dogged determination and her family's unwavering support, this dream team proves that sometimes things are better the second time around."

Douglas grew up in a devout Christian home, where she says faith became part of her DNA. She was also born with a life-threatening rare blood disease and counts winning a gold medal a miracle.

CBN News spoke with her shortly after the release of her book, Grace, Gold and Glory: My Leap of Faith, in 2012. It highlights many of her past struggles, including the time when she and her family were homeless.

"I wanted to write the book because I want people to get motivated and I want people to get inspired and happy and though you may be going through difficulties or struggles I wanted you to know that everything is possible," she explained.

Douglas admitted that there were times that she wanted to give up and credited God for giving her the gift she has.

"It makes me wonder why did he choose me out of all the millions of people out there, why me?" she said. "I think God has a plan for everyone."

As Douglas heads to Rio, prayer will most likely be a big part of her routines, a spiritual dicipline she told CBN News helps to keep her grounded.

"Prayer plays a big role in my life," she explained.

"Before the all around competition I was just praying just to God and saying, 'Thank you for all, God. No matter what happens tomorrow I'm still going to be with you. Win or lose I'm still going to bless you and I'm still going to give you all the glory because you brought me here.'"

"Douglas Family Gold" airs May 25 on Oxygen.
