How Credible Is the Threat at the Olympics?

The security threat in Sochi, Russia, is both credible and specific, with the greatest threat being the location of the Olympics itself, Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, said.

McCaul said he is concerned the Games are being held in the middle of a historic battleground between Russia and Islamist Chechen rebels.

"The eyes of the world are upon these Olympics and the Chechen extremists know this," he said on "Fox News Sunday." "And they want to make a global statement. They want to make a jihad statement. And what better time to do it than right now."

"And that is, I think, the biggest threat to these Olympics," he continued. "Remember, they don't have to hit in the ring of steel at the Olympic Village as long as they hit somewhere in Russia. To them, that's a victory."

McCaul believes there's a strong possibility that a bomb will detonate outside the security perimeter and Olympic Village.
