Three female suicide bombers struck the African nation of Chad over the weekend, murdering at least 27 people and wounding 90 others.

The three terrorists struck at a market on an island in Lake Chad. Officials suspect the Islamic terrorists from Boko Haram were responsible.

Lake Chad is on the border with Nigeria, Niger, and Cameroon, where Boko Haram operates.

The attack came just days after Cameroonian troops freed 900 hostages from Boko Haram, and killed more than 100 of the jihadist group's fighters.
