Friends and family gathered for the funeral of a U.K. Muslim man who was murdered for wishing Christians a "Happy Easter" on Facebook.

Asad Shah was attacked outside his shop by another Muslim man and died in the hospital three days before Easter, reports Premier, a U.K.-based Christian publication.

He shared an Easter message to his Christian customers writing "very happy Easter especially to my beloved Christian nation." He also posted about a Good Friday celebration event.

Police describe the attack as religiously prejudiced and have charged suspect Tanveer Ahmed with murder. The funeral service was held at the the Bait-Ur-Rahman Mosque in west Glasgow.

Inside the mosque hall the message read "Love For All, Hatred For None." Family and friends remembered Shah as someone who treated everyone "with the utmost kindness and respect."

In a statement the family described Shah as a "beloved husband, son, brother and everyone's friend."

An online fundraising campaign set up to support his family has raised more than $143,000.
