A Heart Defect Left Her Always Gasping for Breath. Until...

Basemera Shayna Kaija grew up in Uganda. As a child, she suffered from a congenital heart defect that left her continually tired and gasping for breath.

By the age of 14, Shayna needed life-saving surgery and that's when the U.S.-based ministry Samaritan's Purse stepped in.

Through its Children's Heart Project, she received that operation and now, 12 years later, she's helping others in need.

Shayna spoke with CBN's Charlene Aaron by Skype from Samaritan's Purse headquarters in Boone, North Carolina. Click play to watch.
