SINJAR, Iraq -- Kurdish officials are reporting a new chemical weapons attack, and CBN's Chuck Holton is on the ground in Sinjar reporting on the attack and the battle against ISIS.
Holton spoke by phone from a village on the south side of Sinjar, which was recently liberated by Kurdish fighters.
The region is a frontline in the fight, and Holton reports that he can see ISIS positions only a mile away. There is also sporadic indirect and direct fire, forcing many to take cover in bunkers.
Hear Chuck Holton describe the fight against ISIS militants near Sinjar.
Holton also reported that just a week ago a chemical attack sickened 170 Kurdish soldiers. They are still trying to determine exactly what chemical was used.
He said Kurdish soldiers are shocked they are not seeing more support from other countries.
"They see what they are doing here not as simply protecting the homeland, but as keeping ISIS at bay for the whole world," Holton said.
