American Couple Identified As Brussels Victims; Three Men Charged With Terror Offenses

A missing American couple has been identified as victims of the terrorist attack at the Brussels airport, according to their employers.

Justin Shults and his wife Stephanie had not been seen since Tuesday's bombing.

Stephanie's employer Mars Inc., said in a Facebook post Saturday evening that her family had confirmed that she and her husband died at the airport.

Justin's employer, Clarcor, confirmed earlier that day that he died in the attack.
A family member says they were dropping Stephanie's mother off at the airport and were watching her walk through security when the bombs went off.

Shults' brother, Levi Sutton, wrote on social media Saturday that his brother "traveled the world, leaving each destination better than when he arrived."

Meanwhile, Belgium's interior minister says errors were made in the run-up to the Brussels attack, which has kept the country from responding effectively to violent extremism.

The Belgian government has invested $670 million into police and security services over the past two years.

But Minister Jan Jambon says decades of neglect is hard to overcome and that the fresh investments won't pay dividends overnight.

He said Sunday that hiring anti-terror specialists and specialized equipment could not happen in weeks or months.

Jambon says "it is also not because you put the money in now, that tomorrow all this is visible on the ground."

Police and security are focusing their efforts on searching for and arresting any suspects involved in the attacks that killed at least 31 people and wounded 270 others.

They have asked that organizers postpone a solidarity march scheduled today so that Brussels will not be overburdened with security services.

Belgian prosecutors announced they have charged three men with terror offenses over the suicide attacks on the Brussels airport and subway.

Prosecutors say one suspect is allegedly one of the men seen on airport video.
