First Ever Sunday School Apps Released

The B&B Media Group

CBN.comFor years, David C Cook has earned an esteemed reputation for providing not only the highest quality Sunday school materials, but also the most relevant of resources to support churches and families. And now in a bold move to continually help churches equip their families, David C Cook introduces the first ever Sunday school apps developed for today’s busy families. These mobile apps are designed to meet church-going families, quite literally, where they are—anytime and anyplace.

Designed to support the Tru and Rio curricula, “Tru HomeFront” and “Rio Family Currents” mobile apps provide parents with all of the benefits of take home pages without the paper. Both apps are free downloads and are an ideal complement to these contemporary curriculum choices for churches.

The Rio and Tru apps are designed specifically for parents and allow them to take full use of everyday, teachable moments and quality family time around the dinner table, in the car, or on the go. The mobile apps employ the philosophies of the Tru and Rio online curricula. The Tru app, called “HomeFront”, like Tru is designed to support parents of children from preschool through elementary school. The Rio app, named “Family Currents”, is designed for parents of children in elementary and middle school. Each app includes features such as Bible verses for memorization, conversation starters, activity suggestions, music downloads, videos for parents, and numerous other features that tie directly into weekly Sunday school lessons.

“Today’s families are super busy and constantly on the go. Mobile apps for smart phones naturally fit into their hectic lifestyles and are with them all the time. Now churches have another tool that they can use to extend their Sunday morning content throughout the week,” says Mike Kennedy, senior director of marketing for David C Cook. “Often, the take home pages kids are given in Sunday school or Bible study simply do not make it home for use during the week. Incorporating Sunday school lessons throughout the week is critical to growth and transformation.”

“The response has been excellent! Children’s pastors and families alike are both excited about these tools and the fact that take home materials have never been delivered in such a more relevant, contemporary format. This is part of David C Cook’s ongoing commitment to make our content more accessible to today’s churches and families in very familiar ways,” states Mike Kennedy.

Tru and Rio apps are now available for iPhone and iPod Touch and will be coming soon to Droid. For iPhone, keyword search “Tru HomeFront” and “Rio Family Currents” to download the apps.
