CBN.com — Six-year-old An Yi Fen always dreamed of going to school, but she didn’t think it would be right to ask her father.
She remembers, “I didn’t want my dad to feel bad. I knew he wanted me to go to school, but he didn’t have enough money. We’re really poor.”
And Mr. An has been deaf since birth. Still, he’s been single-handedly trying to raise his daughter since his wife left, when Yi Fen was only two.
“My son wants to provide a better life for his daughter,” sighs An Yi’s grandmother. “But since he’s deaf, no-one will hire him. Sometimes his friends give him an odd-job here or there, but he can’t make much money like that.”
Mr. An and his daughter live with Grandma An. She’s a Christian and taught Yi Fen that while her own father may not be able to provide all of her needs, her heavenly Father could. And all she had to do was ask.
So Yi Fen brought her biggest concern to God. “I asked God every day that my dad would get a job and be happy.”
Yi Fen says that God answered her prayers when CBN came to her village. We saw how hard things were for this father-daughter team and quickly gave Mr. An the tools he needed to start his very own barber shop booth.
An Yi smiles and says, “I’m so proud of my dad! Everyone loves the way he cuts their hair.”
Grandma An adds, “My son is making twenty dollars a day and that is a lot of money for our family! It means I don’t have to worry anymore.”
And today, Yi Fen is happier than ever because CBN provided everything she needed to go to school and get an education.
“Now I know how much my heavenly Father loves me,” Yi Fen concludes. “He heard my prayers and sent you here to help us. Thank you, CBN, you’re good. You’ve done a really great thing my family.”
