CBN.com -Every day, Theru walked 2 miles in the hills of northwest India to get water for his family.
Theru explained, “I had to rush to get water before going to work, because if I was late my boss would cut my pay. Sometimes he marked me absent and wouldn’t pay me at all that day.”
One day, Theru got very sick. He couldn’t work, or even get water. He was a Hindu, but since nothing else worked, he decided to go to a Christian pastor who prayed for sick people.
Theru exclaimed, “He prayed in the name of Jesus, and the swelling in my hands and legs went down! The pain and heaviness in my stomach also disappeared, and I could eat normally.”
Theru started visiting a Christian prayer group in his village. They prayed for a clean water source close to their homes. Not long after those prayers, CBN drilled a well in their village.
“Now water is close to my home, and I always get to work on time,” Theru said. “My family is very happy!”
Theru gave his life to Christ. He and one hundred and seventy-one other villagers were baptized.
With gleaming hope in his eyes, Theru said, “I believe Jesus Christ is the one, True God. That’s why I got baptized. He removed my sickness and helped my family and our whole village by giving us water. Today, Jesus Christ is my father.”
