Loom Weaves New Life in Cambodia

As 19 year old Tuy Pha pacified her baby, she already knew that trouble was ahead.
“My husband said he was going to find work in the city,” says the young mother, “but it’s been months, and I haven’t heard from him.”
Tuy Pha’s husband abandoned her, leaving her to provide for herself and their baby.
I could not believe it was happening to me,” Tuy Pha says. “Yet I knew I had to be strong for my baby. But where would I go?”
Fortunately, a local pastor approached her and offered her a place to stay.
The small church became her family, and soon she committed her life to Jesus Christ.
“I believe that Jesus will help me and my baby now,” Tuy Pha says. “I pray to him everyday.”
But the small church had no way to help the young mother make a living. So CBN Cambodia donated ten looms to the local church. Like the other women, Tuy Pha was eager to learn how to weave. In a couple of weeks, she learned to make beautiful Cambodian cloth. Today, Tuy Pha is able to produce several yards of this weave every month. She earns a considerable amount for her labor, and is able to provide for herself and her baby.
“In Jesus, there is always hope,” Tuy Pha says. “And CBN has helped in giving that to us. Thank you CBN.”
But CBN had another surprise for Tuy Pha. On the day that they visited her, they presented her with a brand new baby playpen and a full year’s supply of powdered milk! Tuy Pha was overjoyed.
“See, blessings are pouring in,” she said, “because I put my faith in Jesus. Thank you so much for making all these happen!”
