It wasn’t exactly Christmas, but you’d never
know it by the looks on these children’s faces. There were
gifts of clothes and food for all of them! All because of people
like you.
When we first met the children several months back, their future
looked quite bleak. Their parents had abandoned them, leaving
them with their elderly grandfather. But recently he died, and
the children were forced to fend for themselves.
For now, they live in an open air basement under
their uncle’s house in their poor Cambodian
village. They have not been invited to live “upstairs”
as their uncle has children of his own and there’s
just no room for five more.
Twelve year old Pheak has become “mom”
to the younger children.
“It is difficult to find rice and wood,”
explains Pheak. “We have to beg for it.”
Meanwhile, Pheak takes care of things at home, her
15 year old brother Hak is off trying to find day
jobs to make money for his siblings.
Then there are the medical problems, a chronic cough
and runny noses for Pheak’s younger sister and
brother. With no money, there would be no medicine
or visits to the doctor.
But at just the right time, God sent the care that
the children needed through Operation Blessing. First
they received the diagnosis and the medicine they
needed from a volunteer Operation Blessing medical
doctor.
But the help didn’t stop there. Now once a
month, every month, Operation Blessing, working with
a local pastor, delivers 110 pounds of rice, oil,
and other foods to the children. And they can do that
because of your gifts to CBN.
“Now I don’t have to worry because I
know God, and I know he will provide,” Pheak
shares.
In addition, Operation Blessing has been able to
do something more to help these precious children.
Because they had no money or proper clothes, they
have not been able to attend school. But thanks again
to you all, that has changed.
Now they have back to school clothes and supplies,
and all of the children are able to attend school.
“It's changed my life,” rejoices Hak.
“I have a better life with enough clothes. I
have enough food to eat. I can go to school because
I have books, pens, and school bags. Thank you.”
And finally, and most important of all, these children’s
lives are being touched for eternity because in addition
to food and clothing, they are hearing and experiencing
the life changing message of the gospel.
And as for Pheak, she’s smiling a whole lot
more these days thanks to you.
“Now I have everything,” says Pheak.
“I lack nothing. I would like to say thank you
to CBN for helping me and my brothers and sisters.”
Outreaches like this are made possible only with
your help. Thanks to you, Pheak and her brothers and
sisters have seen the love of Jesus in action. And
it doesn't stop there. Your faithful gifts are helping
to feed and clothe children here and abroad, are providing
medical care to those in desperate need, and are helping
share the tangible love of Jesus to people all around
the world. If you are not a partner with CBN, please
