for Our Nation Since the tragic events of September 11, 2001, with the
increase of terrorist activity worldwide and the possibility of war, it’s
time for the Church in the United States and beyond to sound the alarm. Let’s
rally together in unity and declare the redemptive work of the Lord over this
nation and over Israel. All are invited to join in the Homeland Security Prayer
Initiative for the first 91 days of 2003, January 1 - April 1. "United
we will stand as the Body of Christ before the throne of grace on behalf of this
nation and Israel. We will call forth a Holy Spirit Border Patrol guard of angelic
protection all around the entrances of our nation – our seaports, airports,
landmarks, large public gatherings, waterways and sources, military installations,"
says Jim. "It is the Lord Who guards the city!" Homeland Security In
September 2002, Jim received some devastating news – he was diagnosed with
lymphoma. During his time of "recovery" from cancer, Jim says he had
many visions and dreams from the Lord. After Thanksgiving he received one of the
clearest visions when he sensed the voice of the Holy Spirit telling him that
America needed a Homeland Security prayer initiative to be launched for this nation.
"He told me that we needed to pray Psalm 91 over this nation and Israel for
91 days," Jim says. Wanting to check with other leaders in the Body about
this, Jim contacted Chuck Pierce and Dutch Sheets to share what he believed the
Lord had shared with him. Both men agreed that they believed this was a word from
the Lord to the Body to pray. Jim says the Holy Spirit soon gave him seven
specific areas in which to pray over our land in order to avert looming, horrific
conditions. The church is called to pray Prayers of Praise, Penitence, Petition,
Proclamation, Protection, Pronouncement, and Prophecy. This is a time for the
prayers of intercession to go up and for intercessors to stand in the gap. Jim
further consulted with Jane Hanson, Cindy Jacobs, Che Ahn, and Lou Engle. There
are three targeted prayer points: 1.Pray Psalm 91 every day for 91 days
over the U.S. and Israel beginning January 1 and continuing through April 1.
2.Pray seven daily prayers (with appropriate Scriptures) over the U.S. and Israel:
- Praise – Revelation1:4-6; Romans 12:1; Psalm 100:4-5
- Penitence – John 1:9-10; Nehemiah 9:1-2
- Petition
– Proverbs 21: 1-2; Ephesians 3:10
- Proclamation
– Psalm 34: 1-7; Deuteronomy 32: 3-4, 33:26-27; Exodus 15:2
- Protection – Jeremiah 29:7; Ezekiel 22:30; 2 Chronicles 7:13-14
- Pronouncement – Isaiah 54:17; Psalm 149: 6-9; Romans 16:20
- Prophecy – Psalm 124:7; Proverbs 18:10; Jeremiah 29: 10-11

from the diary of famed WWII intercessor Rees Howell: "September 12, 1940.
We prayed last night that London would be defended and that the enemy would fail
to break through, and God answered our prayer. Unless God can get hold of this
devil and bind him, no man is safe. If we have protection for our properties,
why not get protection for the country?" What wonderful days these are."
-- Rees Howells. Great News As Jim pressed into what God was
leading him to do, he was blessed with some wonderful news in early December.
On December 11, after reviewing test results, Jim says, "My doctor shook
my hands and declared to me that I was 'clean, clear, and free of all cancer cells!’"
To facilitate his healing, Jim took a three-prong approach to his treatment.
First, he detoxified his body and build up his immune system. Second, he took
advantage of the best medical care available. Amazingly, one of the best cancer
treatment facilities in the nation is 20 minutes from his home. Third, he enlisted
the prayers of intercessors and saints worldwide. "This healing is
a victory for the global prayer movement worldwide," he says. Medically,
the type of lymphoma Jim had is given only a five percent chance of remission.
Though he will still be checked on a periodic basis for several years in order
to monitor his status, Jim rejoices in what God has done. "The Lord sped
up my healing," Jim says. "I am healed of cancer."
