She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Communication from the University of Dayton in Ohio. Although Kristi started out in news working at a local NBC affiliate in Dayton and as a news reporter for a radio station, she eventually found her niche in Christian television where she loves "getting to the heart of people's personal stories."

Before coming to CBN, Kristi produced and co-hosted an inspirational television program called Friend to Friend in Columbus, Ohio. During that time, she also created, produced and hosted a weekly inspirational news magazine style program called A Matter of Concern. Since beginning her television career in 1992, Kristi has trained and mentored several aspiring television reporters where her goal is to teach them not to look just for the facts, but "to find the heart of the story, because heart touches heart." Kristi also co-hosted a children’s program on a FOX affiliate in Dayton, Ohio.

Since joining The 700 Club, she has traveled the globe covering ground-breaking stories. Kristi says that, "For the brokenhearted...HOPE is found in the heart of God!"

She is also known for her in-depth interviews with celebrities such as former Secretary of State Codoleezza Rice, mover producer Tyler Perry and recording artist Natalie Cole. Kristi says that her most life-changing story was when she interviewed Nick Vujicic, an Australian man born with no arms or legs. "He is one of the greatest examples of how God can use someone with no arms and legs to be His hands and feet. Nick taught me what 'trust in the Lord' really means."

Born outside of Chicago and the youngest of five children, Kristi grew up in a strong Christian home where she accepted Christ into her life at the age of 5. She knew then that God was going to use her to bring joy and the love of Jesus Christ into people's lives. She has a heart for single working mothers and continues her ministry with a passion to encourage, enlighten and love the brokenhearted.

When she is not traveling or speaking at conferences, she enjoys writing, biking, rollerblading and hanging out with her son. They reside in Virginia Beach.
