Terrorists Target Israeli Students

CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - One Israeli was killed and six others injured Thursday evening in two separate terrorist attacks in the Jerusalem area.

Two Palestinian terrorists disguised in Israel Defense Forces (IDF) uniforms entered the study hall at Makor Haim High School in Kibbutz Kfar Etzion southeast of Jerusalem.

Armed with guns and knives, the terrorists managed to stab several students before armed school counselors arrived and shot them dead.

"The terrorists came inside and began stabbing the students," a defense official said.

"This could have ended much worse," said another in Central Command.

Kibbutz residents were told to stay inside while security forces began searching the area for other infiltrators.

The injured students were evacuated to Jerusalem's Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

In a separate incident, Arab terrorists opened fired on two Israeli border policemen at a checkpoint near the Arab neighborhood of Shuafat on the old road to Pisgat Zeev in northern Jerusalem, killing one and critically wounding his female partner.

Israeli security forces, backed by an IDF helicopter, began searching for the two assailants, who fled the area on foot.

Two Fatah terror cells, Bridges of Return and Black September, affiliated with al-Aksa Martyrs' Brigades, claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Speaking with YNet, a spokesman for al-Aksa said the calm they had maintained with Israel was over, and small terror cells were preparing a series of attacks throughout the West Bank (Judea and Samaria).

"This is our proof that we are no longer committed to the calm and that we do not intend to continue handing over our weapons," the spokesman said.

"We are only committed to resistance against the Israeli occupation. The next attacks are already underway," he said.
