Is Obama Getting a Free Pass from Media?
February 24, 2008
If you watched Saturday Night Live last night, you may have seen the opening clip - where the cast is reenacting the recent Democratic debate in Austin, Texas.
The only difference in the skit is that the reporters keep asking Barack Obama soft questions and they clap for him after every answer.
In real life, some are saying that the media is too soft on Obama. During my interview with Hillary Clinton in Rhode Island today, I asked her about this. Watch by clicking play, or read what she had to say below :
Brody: Do you believe the media has given him (Obama) somewhat of a free ride?
Clinton: Well I think that certainly is the topic of a lot of conversation, probably for good reason. I'm not going to tell the media how to do your job or anyone's. But I think it's again a disservice first to the voters in the Democratic primaries, then to voters in general, not to hold each of us to a very tough standard. Because we're vying for the toughest job in the world.
