Pastor Rick Warren is scheduled to pray at President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration next month.
Obama's visited warren's Saddleback church twice: once for world aids day in 2006 and back in August, when he and John McCain faced off in a candidates' forum at the church. During the election, Warren remained neutral.
Liberal groups are upset by Obama's choice of Warren.

Many call Warren a "homophobe" and an "anti-gay bigot" for his opposition to gay marriage. They are particularly upset that he supported California Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage.
Meanwhile, the Rev. Joseph Lowery, a well-respected veteran of the Civil Rights movement will give the benediction in the Jan. 20 ceremony.
Lowery, was co-founder of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Also listed on the program: singer Aretha Franklin, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, poet Elizabeth Alexander, the U.S. Marine and Navy bands, the San Francisco Boys Chorus and the San Francisco Girls Chorus.
More than four million people are headed to DC to watch Obama take the oath from Chief Justice John Roberts.
