Enough Red Flags to Make Sinister Scenario Plausible
Reports are circulating all over the Web, particularly
among bloggers, about the Oklahoma University suicide
bomber, Joel Hinrichs. For those who haven't yet heard
about Hinrichs' case, my blogs from Tuesday
and Wednesday
will bring you reasonably up to speed. And for a great
insider's persepctive, visit the Counterterrorism
Blog, where the always insightful Daveed Gartenstein-Ross
has done an excellent job of following this fluid story.
As I've stated in my previous posts, we just don't have
enough information yet to definitively link Hinrichs to
any sort of jihadist activiity. He may indeed just have
been a lonely, troubled outcast looking to end his life
in dramatic fashion. But, as several terrorism experts
I have spoken to these past few days agree, there are
certainly enough red flags here to make a far more sinister
scenario plausible. Stay tuned for more.
