Police are investigating a drive-by shooting early Friday morning on the Israeli Embassy in Athens.

Greek authorities found more than 50 bullet casings near the scene of the attack, some fired from a Kalashnikov assault rifle.

There were no injuries, due in part to the pre-dawn hour of the attack at around 3:30 a.m. So far no one has claimed responsibility for the shooting.

Israel's Foreign Ministry condemned the attack, blaming the Palestinian Authority's anti-Israel incitement.

"The attack is the result of anti-Israeli incitement by Palestinians," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement Friday morning, citing P.A. Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and "pro-Palestinian organizations."

The ministry thanked the Greek government for its "close cooperation in investigating the incident."
