JERUSALEM, Israel -- Israel’s Shin Bet said this week it had arrested three Palestinians who had formed an Islamic State terror cell in the West Bank (Judean) city of Hebron.

According to Shin Bet, the three had planned to murder an Israeli soldier and use his weapon and uniform to carry out a terror attack. They also confessed to assembling bombs for attacks.

This is the first case made public of ISIS in Israel. According to reports, the terrorists did not have direct contact with outside forces but followed the group’s ideology.

The Jerusalem Post reported that the defense establishment believes Salafi jihadism is a “marginal force” in the territories but could gain influence.

Another report said the Israeli military is concerned that ISIS videos are having an influence on Palestinians.
