ISIS Losing Ground: Why That May Not Be a Good Thing

JERUSALEM, Israel – ISIS is no longer expanding in the Middle East, according to analyst Dr. Jonathan Spyer. But he warns that's not necessarily a good thing.

CBN's Chris Mitchell spoke with Spyer, who recently returned from the front lines in Syria.

The Middle East expert told Mitchell that while ISIS rules with an iron fist in areas under its control, it has lost ground in some key places. According to Spyer,  that may cause the radical Islamic group to spread out more into international terrorism.

"What is happening is -- in a similar way to al Qaeda, actually -- is that as they lose their territorial holdings, so the focus begins to be more on going into the business on international terrorism," Spyer explained.
