Radical Hindus burned down a church in Karnataka state, India on New Year's Day.

Meantime Christians in Orissa are concerned that more attacks are coming since radical Hindus have called for a state-wide shut down on Jan. 3.

It was a tense Christmas for Christians in Orissa state as churches wondered if their Christmas services would be attacked.

Christian World News spoke Sajan George of the Global Council of Indian Christians. He said some Christians were guarded by police, but not all.

"Some of the major churches, those that have not been destroyed, and some relief camps were heavily guarded by the cops," George explained. "Most of the deep interiors, they were not able to celebrate for fear of further attacks by Hindus."

Christians in Orissa are still fearful after brutal attacks this summer resulted in churches being destroyed and more than 100 believers murdered.

Thousands are still living in government-protected camps.
