Residents are recovering after three wildfires destroyed about 1,000 homes in an area covering 65 square miles.

Some say the carnage from a massive fire that burned through this mobile home park looks like the fallout of an atomic bomb.

For some victims, the effect was just as devastating.," one resident said.

"We lost most of all of our money for our old age which is now, in the stock market and what we didn't lose, we've lost all of the stuff here, so we really don't have anything

A team of chaplains from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is working with churches and local emergency crews to minister to fire victims.

"My heart goes out particularly to the elderly and those folks who are just so devastated and emotionally unraveled to even be able to fill forms out to get assistance," head chaplain Jack Monday said. "Our role at this stage is to really come alongside and assist them and help them with the resources in the area, to pray with them and to really offer God's hope that, although their loss is just devastating, that the Lord can give them a new normal."

The BGEA says they will train volunteers who want to join the rapid response team.
