U.S. President Barack Obama addressed the immigration issue at the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast this week.
He said the millions of people inside the U.S. illegally should have the chance to become citizens after meeting certain requirements.
He says the biblical command to "love they neighbor as thyself" is as relevant now as ever.
"At a time when there's no shortage of challenges to occupy our time, it's even more important to step back and to give thanks and to seek guidance from each other, but most importantly from God," President Obama said.
The president offered thanks for the freedom of religion and told the crowd they must remember America is a nation of Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus and non-believers.
