Kentucky has approved $18 million in tax breaks for a biblical theme park.

The Kentucky Tourism Development Finance Board voted unanimously on Tuesday to approve the incentives for the Ark Encounter to be built in Williamstown.

The park will feature a 510-foot-long replica of Noah's Ark.

The non-profit group Answers in Genesis, which also operates the Creation Museum, is leading the effort to build the park.

The project is estimated to cost $172.5 million to build. Construction is set to begin this year. The park is scheduled to open the summer of 2016.

The state legislature must still approve the funding for the park.
