Americans everywhere spent Sunday celebrating mom for Mother's Day.

At the White House first lady Michelle Obama spent Monday honoring military moms who have made a great sacrifice for their country.

The first lady and Dr. Jill Biden hosted the annual Mother's Day tea. The group was made up of moms actively serving as well as military wives.

"Even with your husbands deployed, you're still doing the carpool, volunteering, leading the neighborhood organizations, working with your congregation to do care packages for people," Mrs. Obama said.

"No matter what your country asks of you and your family, you are the ones who step up and serve. And you do it with grace, with dignity, and without complaint," she continued.

Biden, who is a military mom herself, said she feels a special bond with fellow military moms.

The mothers and children spent the day in arts and crafts and were treated to a musical performance from singer Norah Jones.
