There are not too many faith and family films that address the ongoing challenge of bullying. But "Golden Shoes," the straight to DVD release, teaches children and adults alike that a little prayer and believing in yourself can take you far.

This film centers on 8-year-old Christian, a boy whose father is an MIA soldier in Afghanistan and whose mother is hospitalized after a terrible accident.

As a result, Christian finds himself in the care of a mean-spirited neighbor, Frank, played by Eric Roberts.

Christian finds consolation by dreaming about playing soccer for the national youth team.

However, those dreams do not come without adversity. Christian is bullied and berated by his peers and adults and is told that he can't play soccer. Christian chooses to pray and encourage others despite his situation.

This film, described as "'Rudy' meets 'Bend It like Becham,'" reveals that prayer, faith, and a little bit of encouragement can help you through even the most difficult times.
