A Montana man has now applied for a marriage license to legally marry a second wife.

Nathan Collier says he was inspired by last week's Supreme Court ruling.

Collier, a former Mormon, was excommunicated for polygamy and now belongs to no religious organization. He and two women applied for the license Tuesday in an attempt to legitimize their polygamous marriage.

All states outlaw bigamy, but Collier plans to sue if his application is denied.

"It's about marriage equality. You can't have this without polygamy," Collier told the Associated Press.
